The Society

The Society was organized in 1996 by a group of residents who were interested in researching and documenting the history of Pillow.  The book, “The History of Pillow and the Surrounding Areas” was published in 2002.  The society has continued to flourish with the acquisition of the former Zion Lutheran Church building which now houses the museum.

The Pillow Historical Society’s mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation of the heritage of Pillow and the surrounding areas by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting historical material and properties of the town and it’s residents.

Anyone interested in preserving the history of Pillow and/or knowing more about our town is welcome to become a member.  We meet at 12:30PM  on a designated Saturday during the months of February, May, August, and November. Meetings are held at either the Pillow Borough Hall or the Museum.  Reminders are posted at the post office, on our Facebook page, and on our website. We also have an active email list which is used to communicate any society activity. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings.  If you want to become a member, the annual membership fee is $10, sponsor membership is $25, and lifetime membership is $100.  You can contact any officer or trustee about membership, or email the president at pillowhistoricalsociety@comcast.net.
